Biography

Omar Salah is a full professor of Global Finance Restructuring Law at Tilburg University, where he also holds a chair in the Department of Private, Business Labour Law within Tilburg Law School. His research and teaching primarily focus on global developments within the realms of finance law, restructuring, and insolvency proceedings. In addition to his academic role at Tilburg University, Omar is actively practicing as a lawyer, specializing in finance, restructuring, and insolvency. He serves as a Partner in the Banking practice of the global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, where he heads the Financial Restructuring & Insolvency department based in Amsterdam. Prior to his current roles, he worked with Tilburg University from 2009 to 2011, and from 2011 to 2021, he was a lawyer at the Dutch law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, serving in both the Amsterdam and Singapore offices. His previous experience also includes working with King & Spalding in their London offices.
