Biography

Onesmus Mwabonje is a Research Fellow at Imperial College London’s Centre for Environmental Policy. He combines academic and industrial experience in the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to supply chains involving biofuels and bioenergy production. Currently, he serves as the technical lead on the BEIS funded 2050 International Calculator program, contributing to the technical delivery team that develops country-specific calculators for decarbonization pathways. His previous work includes involvement in the EU Calculator project funded by the Horizon 2020 initiative and the management of the Bio-SuccInnovate project, aimed at ensuring the sustainable production of succinic acid through robust LCA criteria. Additionally, he leads the Life Cycle Network and Energy Climate Research Theme at the Centre for Environmental Policy. With substantial international experience working in the USA, Kenya, and South America, he is recognized as an expert in assessing biomass feedstocks and renewable energy technologies.
