Biography

Ongun Berk Kazanci is an Associate Professor focusing on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and HVAC Systems at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He completed his Ph.D. on 'Low Temperature Heating and High Temperature Cooling in Buildings' in 2016 at DTU. His main research interests include indoor environmental quality, human thermal comfort, low temperature heating, high temperature cooling systems—especially water-based radiant heating and cooling systems—integration of renewable energy resources, and thermodynamic analyses of HVAC systems. Kazanci is also involved in building energy performance simulation. He has received several awards including the Professor P.O. Fanger’s Award from the Danish HVAC Society in 2014, DTU's Young Researcher Award in 2016, the REHVA Young Scientist Award in 2017, and the SCANVAC Award for Young Researchers in 2022. He is an active member of ASHRAE, DANVAK, REHVA TRC, and IBPSA-Nordic, and his expertise aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
