Biography

Dr. Onofre Moran-Mendoza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Queen's University, specializing in Respirology. He completed his medical education at Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi in Mexico, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and a Master's in Clinical Epidemiology at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City. He received the National Award for Excellence in Medical Research in Mexico in 1995. Dr. Moran continued his training with a fellowship in Respirology and a PhD in Health Care Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Since joining Queen's University in 2007, he has been actively involved in several clinics, including the general Respirology clinic, Tuberculosis clinic, and the Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) clinic, which he established in 2013. Dr. Moran has developed the ILD Fellowship program and has contributed to numerous research collaborations, publishing 50 papers and presenting at 60 conferences. His main research interests include the clinical aspects of interstitial lung diseases, and he has created a comprehensive ILD database for ongoing studies.
