Biography

Onyenyechukwu Nnorom is a family doctor and public health specialist, serving as the Associate Program Director of the Public Health & Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto. He is the Black Health Theme Lead in the Faculty of Medicine and serves as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Lead in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Nnorom has a strong commitment to anti-racist medical education focused on Black health in Canada. He has been recognized as the Past President of the Black Physicians’ Association Ontario and contributes to several initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for racialized communities. His work includes hosting the podcast 'Race, Health and Happiness', where he discusses health disparities and systemic issues affecting Black individuals. Nnorom has numerous publications highlighting health disparities, breast cancer presentation differences among Black and White women, and efforts to increase vaccination rates in Black communities in Canada. He has a robust academic and clinical background, with advanced degrees in public health and medicine from notable universities.
