Dr. Oscar Garza

Biography

Oscar Garza is a veteran journalist with extensive experience in cultural journalism across various media platforms, including television, print, radio, and digital. He has served as a senior producer and senior editor at KPCC (NPR) in Los Angeles, where he co-created the acclaimed daily culture program, 'Frame.' Garza was also the founding editor-in-chief of 'Tu Ciudad' magazine, published by Emmis Communications, and has contributed as a senior editor to Los Angeles writing for prominent publications such as 'L.A. Weekly,' 'Texas Monthly,' and the 'Journal of Popular Music' from Cambridge University Press. In addition to his journalism work, he co-wrote the theater production 'Hand Father,' which toured the U.S. and featured interviews with notable personalities, including actor/art collector Cheech Marin and film director Carl Franklin. Garza continues to be an influential figure in cultural discourse, engaging with a diverse range of topics from arts and culture to politics and ethnicity.
