Biography

Oskar Liivak is the C.S. Wong Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. He graduated with highest honors from Rutgers College in 1994 and earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University in 2000, focusing on techniques for determining protein structures. Liivak also holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, which he received in 2005. Before joining the law school, he was a post-doctoral scientist working on the physical realization of quantum computing at IBM's Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California. Prior to his academic career, he served as a patent agent in the Boston office of Fish Richardson P.C. and as a law clerk for Judge Sharon Prost of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
