Dr. Osman Yağan

Biography

Osman Yağan is a Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Carnegie Mellon University. He joined the faculty in August 2013, following his role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CyLab, Carnegie Mellon. Prior to this, he was a visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at Arizona State University in Fall 2011. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2011 and his B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2007. His research interests focus on modeling, design, and performance evaluation of engineering systems, with a particular emphasis on communication systems and networks. His specific research topics include wireless communications, security, random graphs, social information networks, and cyber-physical systems. Osman is a Senior Member of IEEE and has served on the Technical Program Committee for various international conferences including IEEE Globecom, PIMRC, ICC, and WiOpt.
