Biography

Osvaldo Simeone is a Professor of Information Engineering at King's College London, where he directs the Communications, Learning, and Information Processing lab. He obtained his MSc degree with honors and PhD in Information Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Between 2006 and 2017, he was a faculty member in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, working with the Center for Wireless Information Processing. His research focuses on information theory, machine learning, wireless communications, neuromorphic computing, and quantum machine learning. He is a co-recipient of various awards including the IEEE Communications Society Outstanding Paper Award and the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Jack Neubauer Memorial Award. Simeone has authored a textbook titled 'Machine Learning Engineers' published by Cambridge University Press and is the author of over 180 research journal and magazine papers. He is a Fellow of the IET, EPSRC, and IEEE, and is currently a Distinguished Lecturer for both the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Information Theory Society. His work is supported by several organizations including the National Science Foundation and the European Research Council.
