Biography

Othman Oudghiri-Idrissi joined the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. His work focuses on space engineering, specifically designing in-space manufacturable structures such as solar arrays, antennas, and optical systems. Oudghiri-Idrissi has expertise in mechanical metamaterials, homogenization, waves in complex media, and inverse problems related to non-destructive evaluation. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2022. He holds two master's degrees: one in Geotechnical Engineering from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in France, and another in Civil Engineering from the Hassania School of Public Works in Morocco, both earned in 2016. His innovative research is recognized in the field, and he was honored with the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Award in 2025.
