Biography

Otto Anker Nielsen is a Professor in Transportation Science and the Head of the Transport Division at DTU Management, specializing in transport modeling and human mobility. With 27 years of research experience, he has extensively participated in numerous projects related to transport modeling, including road pricing and public transport planning. His contributions extend internationally, having collaborated in several EU projects and served as a member of various scientific committees. As an advisor to transport modeling efforts in Denmark and beyond, Nielsen has led significant projects, including the development of the National Transport Model and the Copenhagen-Ringsted Model. He has supervised 25 PhD students and managed vast research grants totaling over 9.5 million Euros in the past five years. Nielsen is also an active member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences and has served as a visiting professor at institutions such as the University of Montreal and Technical University of Delft.
