Biography

Ovidiu Lungu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the Université de Montréal. His research focuses on fundamental and clinical aspects of aging, mental health, and neurodegenerative diseases, particularly concerning schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. He holds a PhD in Psychology from 'Al.I.Cuza' University in Iasi, Romania, and has completed two postdoctoral fellowships, one at the University of Minnesota and the other at the University of Montreal. His expertise includes the characterization of functional neuroplasticity in aging, social determinants of healthy and pathological aging, and neurophysiological mechanisms related to memory consolidation during sleep.
