Biography

Ozan Kuru is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communications and New Media and a Principal Investigator at the Centre for Trusted Internet and Community at the National University of Singapore. His research broadly examines individuals’ engagement with digital technology and the systematic/public information politics in a cross-national context, with a particular focus on public opinion and survey/experimental methods. Kuru obtained his BA in Psychology from Koc University and his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Michigan. He has worked as a Howard Deshong Postdoctoral Fellow at the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. His work has been published in various outlets, including the Journal of Communication and Public Opinion Quarterly. He engages in numerous research projects funded by entities such as the Ministry of Education in Singapore and Facebook Research. Kuru has received multiple awards for his research and teaching, and he is also involved in editing and reviewing for various academic journals in communication and political science.
