Pablo Nepomnaschy joined the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University in 2008, where he is currently a Professor and MSFHR Scholar. He obtained his Licenciado in Biology from the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia S.J.B. in Argentina and earned both his MA and PhD in Anthropology from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. His doctoral studies focused on biological anthropology, integrating perspectives from physiology, ecology, and anthropology. Following his PhD, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Epidemiology Branch of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH) in the USA. His research primarily investigates the effects of stress on human health and reproduction, including studies on how various environmental and social stressors affect reproductive function among Mayan women in the highlands of Guatemala. His interdisciplinary approach allows him to analyze these issues from multiple angles, aiming to contribute to understanding the overarching impacts of stress during critical life stages. His teaching interests include Human Biology, Human Ecology, Health, and Human Reproduction. He is also actively involved in course offerings that engage students in independent and honours research projects related to health sciences.
