Dr. Pablo Sendra

Biography

Pablo Sendra is an architect and urban designer specializing in Urban Design and Public Participation at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London. He combines an academic career with professional practice through his urban design firm, LUGADERO LTD, focusing on facilitating co-design processes within communities. As director of the MSc Urban Design program and the City Planning Programme Coordinator for the Civic Design short course at UCL, he has engaged in action-research projects collaborating with activists and communities. He is a co-author of 'Designing Disorder' (2020), translated into eight languages, and 'Community-Led Regeneration' (2020), as well as co-editor of 'Civic Practices' (2017). His academic background includes degrees from Universidad de Sevilla where he obtained his PhD in Architecture in 2014, and he has held various positions including Research Teaching Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge. Sendra's career spans work as a strategic planner and urban designer in Spain and China. His commitment to sustainable development goals emphasizes creating sustainable cities and communities.
