Dr. Palen Mallory

Biography

Palen Powelson Mallory is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University, specializing in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. His research primarily focuses on clinical patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He is particularly interested in topics such as Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), respiratory failure, and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Mallory's educational background includes a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at Vanderbilt University, where he trained in various aspects of pediatrics and critical care. He completed his residency at Emory University and earned his M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout his career, he has been involved in significant research grants, including studies on ECMO initiation strategies and their impact on neurodevelopment in children with ARDS.
