Biography

Pallavi Goswami is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University in the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment. Her research focuses on understanding droughts, including meteorological, hydrological, and agricultural aspects, as well as the onset timeframes and characteristics of these events. She investigates compounding hazards such as drought-to-flood transitions and is interested in future projections of extreme weather events and their implications for adaptation. Her current work is part of the National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Climate Systems Hub, funded by the Australian Government. Dr. Goswami completed her joint PhD at Monash University, Australia, and IIT Bombay, India, with a focus on hydrological droughts and the impacts of a changing climate. Her past research has involved examining non-stationarity in hydrological droughts in southeast Australia and linking drought flows to large-scale climate drivers.
