Pamela Carreno-Medrano is a researcher in Human-Robot Interaction with a background in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction. Prior to joining Monash University, she served as a Research Fellow from 2020 to 2023 and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focusing on human-robot collaboration at the University of Waterloo in Canada from 2017 to 2019. She obtained her PhD in Information Communication Technology from Université de Bretagne-Sud in France in 2016, a Master of Science in Computer Science from École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Brest in France in 2012, and a Bachelor in Computer Systems Engineering from Universidad EAFIT in Colombia in 2010. Her research interests lie at the intersection of human-robot interaction, computational modeling of human decision-making, and robot learning, with a current focus on enabling robots to intelligently interact with humans in various situations. She is particularly interested in developing computational representations and models of human behavior to endow robots with algorithms that allow them to learn and make decisions during interactions. Pamela is also engaged in projects aimed at designing robots to assist people in enhancing their physical and mental well-being.
