Dr. Pamela Colombo

Biography

Pamela Colombo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Laval University, Quebec. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of the Basque Country, Spain, and has worked as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie researcher at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (IRIS-EHESS) in Paris. Her research focuses on the connections between state violence and space, examining the spatiality of enforced disappearances in Argentina, forced displacement programs as counter-insurgency policies during the Cold War in Latin America, and the forced removal of Indigenous children to residential schools in Canada. Among her publications, notable works include her book 'Espacios de Desparición' (Miño y Dávila, 2017) and co-editing 'Space Memories Violence' (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014).
