Pamela Hebbard is an Associate Professor in the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba and a general surgical oncologist with CancerCare Manitoba. She has extensively studied surgical quality improvement, specifically in breast cancer and related outcomes. Pamela Hebbard was born in Goose Bay, Labrador, and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Neuroscience followed by her Medical degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Following her residency in General Surgery and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology, she pursued a fellowship in General Surgical Oncology at the University of Calgary. Since beginning her clinical practice in Winnipeg in 2012, she has focused on the treatment of complex gastrointestinal malignancies and breast cancer while optimizing the delivery of cancer care. Moreover, she leads a collaborative initiative within CancerCare Manitoba aimed at measuring and improving surgical quality for cancer patients, participating in various research groups, including the RUBY Study that focuses on the burdens faced by young women with breast cancer. Her research themes include surgical quality indicators and supportive care for surgical patients. As a dedicated educator, she is also accepting graduate students in her field.
