Dr. Pamela Moss

Biography

Pamela Moss is a John Dewey Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan's Marsal Family School of Education. Her scholarship focuses on methodological pluralism within education research, exploring diverse methodologies that complement and challenge traditional perceptions of validity, thereby enhancing understandings of how educators interpret and utilize assessments. Her research has evolved toward examining knowledge infrastructures in education, particularly the dynamic relationships among policies, practices, norms, resources, social structures, and technologies. Moss emphasizes issues related to epistemic justice within her current research endeavors, aiming to construct an argument for the significance of infrastructural studies in education, advocating for awareness of the limitations and possibilities inherent in current knowledge infrastructures. Throughout her career, she has contributed significantly to the educational research community, including collaborations on standards for educational psychological testing and serving as a fellow of the National Academy of Education.
