Dr. Pamela Pastirik

Biography

Pamela Pastirik is a Teaching Professor at the University of New Brunswick, based in Saint John. She specializes in nursing education with degrees including a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. Her professional certifications include CNA Perinatal Nursing certification, which she earned in 2009 and renewed in 2014. She is currently enrolled in a Post-Degree Module in Thanatology at the University of Western Ontario. Her research and teaching interests focus on grief and loss, particularly in the context of perinatal loss, and she is committed to interprofessional education and context-based learning. Pastirik is actively involved in clinical teaching in areas such as Maternal-Child Nursing and clinical skills labs. She is also known for her contributions to professional practice through her role as Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the NB COPES Child & Family Grief Center and her membership in various committees related to interprofessional collaboration and perinatal loss.
