Biography
Pam Reinagel received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Harvard University. She has conducted postdoctoral research in theoretical neuroscience under Christof Koch at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and in experimental neuroscience with R. Clay Reid at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Reinagel is a recipient of the Sloan Research Fellowship and began her lab at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2003. Her research focuses on the perceptually guided selection of action in visually behaving rats, examining both neural mechanisms through lesions and pharmacology, and the behavioral outcomes such as reward-motivated choices in the face of sensory uncertainty. Currently, her lab investigates the speed-accuracy trade-off in visual discriminations and blindsight, characterizing visual decision-making processes that depend on or are independent of the primary visual cortex in rats.
