Dr. Pamela Seeds

Biography

Pamela Seeds is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Clinical Psychology. She completed her Honour’s B.Sc. with Distinction at Queen’s University and obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2007 and 2013, respectively. Dr. Seeds is a registered psychologist in Ontario and conducts research into the relationships between cognition, life stress, and depression. Her significant research revolves around diathesis-stress models, the influence of early attachment styles on psychological outcomes, and cognitive vulnerability factors impacting mental health. In her clinical practice, she incorporates varied therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory to support individuals of all ages. Dr. Seeds has been actively involved in the development and supervision of practicum students within the Clinical Psychology graduate program, demonstrating a deep commitment to mentorship and education. Her teaching includes undergraduate and graduate courses focused on Clinical Psychology, Child Psychopathology, and Psychopathology, with a focus on fostering student growth and understanding in these critical areas.
