Biography

Pan Li joined Georgia Tech in Spring 2023 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to this, he worked at Purdue University's Computer Science Department from Fall 2020 to Spring 2023. Before joining Purdue, Pan served as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford's Computer Science Department from 2019 to 2020. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Pan has received several honors, including the NSF CAREER Award, a Paper Award at the Learning Graph Conference, the Sony Faculty Innovation Award, and the JPMorgan Faculty Award. His research focuses on developing and analyzing expressive, generalizable, and robust machine learning algorithms for graph and geometric data, employing methods such as Graph Neural Networks, geometric deep learning, and equivariant models. He is also interested in building scalable analysis tools for large-scale graph data and exploring graph hypergraph clustering algorithms and large-scale graph machine learning. His work in Artificial Intelligence Science emphasizes creating interpretable and trustworthy graph machine learning applications in physics.
