Biography

Panagiotis Angeloudis is a Professor of Transport Systems and Logistics at Imperial College London's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he leads the Transport Systems & Logistics Laboratory (TSL). His research focuses on the intersection of autonomous systems, multi-agent modeling, and network optimization applications for freight distribution and passenger transportation. Recent projects have emphasized designing and deploying strategies for safe and efficient autonomous transport systems, including autonomous vehicles and drones for passenger and freight mobility. Furthermore, Panagiotis is a member of the UK Department for Transport Expert Panel on the Maritime 2050 initiative and the Future Mobility Review Team for the UK Government Office for Science. He has advised and developed bespoke models for major corporations and government agencies, contributing to transport infrastructure and operations management technology deployment initiatives. At Imperial, he oversees a team of 15 researchers and serves as Programme Director for the MSc in Transport Data Science. He also plays a pivotal role in various funded research projects with significant support from EPSRC, Innovate UK, and foreign governments and industry. Panagiotis is a member of the management committee for the Imperial Robotics Forum and serves as the Director of Teaching for the Transport Section. In addition, he is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Maritime Policy and Management and a member of the United States Transportation Research Board Committee on Ports and Channels.
