Biography

Professor Pankaj obtained his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and later earned his master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, followed by a PhD from the University of Wales Swansea. He is a Professor of Computational Biomechanics and serves as the Deputy Head of the Institute for Bioengineering at the University of Edinburgh. He established and leads the Edinburgh Computational Biomechanics research group, directing efforts that promote research collaborations with institutions across the globe. His work has received substantial backing from international organizations and industry partners within the UK, showcasing his leadership in strategic development for enhancing the university's regional engagement. Pankaj's contributions to research have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Virtual Physiological Human Institute recognition for his PhD thesis and fellowship prizes from the British Orthopaedic Research Society. His research interests cover a range of subjects, including Finite Element Methods, Structural Mechanics, and Computational Biomechanics.
