Biography

Paola Lettieri is the Vice-Provost (Strategy) at University College London (UCL) and a Professor of Chemical Engineering. She leads UCL's institutional priority projects aimed at building academic excellence over the next decade. As the Director of UCL East Campus, which opened in September 2023, she continues to manage development plans for the campus. Paola is recognized as an international authority in fluidization and life cycle assessments, analyzing the long-term impacts of products and processes, including the treatment of nuclear waste and the disposal of facemasks. She has received prestigious Research Fellowships from the Royal Academy of Engineering and has authored over 250 papers and book chapters, including a co-authored book on fluidized bed reactors published by Springer.
