Molecular pharmacologist and epithelial physiologist, Paola Vergani graduated from the University of Pavia and obtained her PhD from the University of Milan, where she focused on studying membrane transport mechanisms in yeast. Following her doctoral studies, she undertook postdoctoral research at Wye College, University of London, before moving to Rockefeller University in New York, where she began working on the structure/function of CFTR.
