Biography

Paolo Fusar-Poli is a Professor and Chair in Preventive Psychiatry at King's College London (KCL). He heads the Early Psychosis: Intervention Clinical-detection Laboratory (EPIC Lab) within the Department of Psychosis Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). An honorary consultant psychiatrist with the South London Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, he dedicates his work to preventing mental disorders through research that combines evidence-based medicine with clinical prediction and neurosciences. Professor Fusar-Poli completed his medical studies and psychiatric training with a PhD at the University of Pavia, Italy, where he also worked as an Associate Professor before moving to KCL. With over 580 publications in PubMed indexed journals and an h-index of 124, he ranks among the top experts in psychosis worldwide. As a principal investigator, he has led numerous national and international grants focused on the prevention of mental disorders. In addition to his research endeavors, he is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has contributed significantly to various clinical research networks aimed at improving mental health care.
