Biography

Paolo Gigli is a researcher and lecturer at Università della Svizzera italiana, specializing in theoretical philosophy with a focus on metaphysics and historical development, particularly in Ancient Greece. He earned his PhD at the University of Geneva with a thesis on change in Plato’s Theaetetus. He has also obtained an MA from Università della Svizzera italiana and a BA from the University of Bologna. In addition to his primary research on Ancient Philosophy, he has broader interests in metaphysics, logic, and contemporary debates, especially within the analytic tradition. His academic contributions include teaching Introduction to Philosophy and Ancient Philosophy at the BA level, as well as research-oriented courses at both the BA and MA levels. Gigli is currently involved in multiple academic roles, including coordinator for the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Philosophy at USI-FTL and a post-doctoral researcher. He has been recognized as a visiting doctoral student at the University of Oxford.
