Dr. Pär Anders Granhag

Biography

Pär-Anders Granhag is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg, in the Department of Psychology, focusing on applied psychology. He has served as a Visiting Professor at the Norwegian Police University College from 2013 to 2015 and has been instrumental as a Funding Coordinator for the Nordic Network for research on Psychology & Law. An established figure in the field of psychology and law, Granhag has held leadership roles such as the President of the European Association for Psychology & Law. His research predominantly explores Criminal and Legal Investigative Psychology with a keen emphasis on detection deception and investigative interviewing techniques. Granhag's work has been published in numerous respected journals, contributing significantly to the understanding of how psychological principles apply to legal settings and policing. His ongoing research includes evaluations of evidence types in legal contexts and the strategies used by suspects during interrogations. Additionally, he has actively participated in various conferences where he has shared insights on advanced investigative interviewing methods and the psychology behind deception.
