Dr. Paromita Rakhi

Biography

Paromita Rakhi is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Manchester. She has been actively conducting research and teaching a variety of accounting courses since 2019. Paromita completed her Ph.D. in Management Accounting at the University of Manchester, with her thesis titled 'Budgeting Power: Institutional Perspective Budgeting Public Sector Organisation Bangladesh.' Her research interests broadly encompass management accounting, including managerial control in public and private organizations, power dynamics, accounting systems, and budgeting systems. She critically investigates the impact of power, emotions, corruption, and human rights within these contexts. Paromita also has a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Salford and her expertise relates to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to initiatives aimed at ending poverty and ensuring prosperity. Her work is influential in the field of management accounting, with a focus on applying theoretical constructs to practical organizational issues.
