Biography

Partha Dey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from UC Berkeley in 2010, under the supervision of Sourav Chatterjee and Steve Evans. His early career included a position as a Courant Instructor and Simons Fellow at NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences from 2010 to 2013, followed by serving as an Early-Career Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick in 2013-2014. Dey's research interests primarily focus on Probability Theory and its intersections with Statistical Physics. He has expressed particular interest in topics such as passage percolation, random growth models, Stein's method, concentration inequalities, spin glasses, random graphs, and random matrices.
