Dr. Pascal Sciarini

Biography

Pascal Sciarini is a Professor at the University of Geneva in the Department of Political Science and International Relations. He has a Doctorate in Political Science and has served as a faculty member at various institutions, including the University of Basel and the Institute of Political Science. He has held significant administrative roles, including Director of the Department from 2005 to 2010 and 2015 to 2017, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences since July 15, 2022. His research interests primarily focus on Swiss politics, comparative political behavior, Europeanization, decision-making processes, direct democracy, and political behavior related to voting and elections. He has been actively involved in several academic and administrative committees, including the Swiss Political Science Association and the FNS Grants Commission. He founded and presided over the Doctoral Program in Political Science in Western Switzerland from 2005 to 2018, and has been a member of the University Assembly from 2014 to 2021. His notable scholarly contributions include analyzing the complexities of the Swiss political system and its dynamic changes over the past three decades.
