Biography

Patrice Corriveau is currently the Associate Vice-President for International Affairs at the University of Ottawa and the President of the International Association of French-Speaking Sociologists (AISLF). He is a Full Professor in the Department of Criminology and has previously served as a Senior Policy Analyst in the criminal justice sector at the Department of Justice Canada. His primary ongoing research project, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), focuses on the historical sociology of suicide in Quebec from 1763 to the present, in collaboration with J.-F. Cauchie, Cellard, and Perreault. He is a co-author of the book "Vous avez détruit la beauté du monde. Le suicide scénarisé au Québec depuis 1763" (Moelle Graphik, 2020). His notable publications include significant works on child cyberpornography, sex work, and the regulation of sexual minorities, among others. Corriveau has been recognized for his excellence in research, teaching, and community service, receiving the Faculty Professorship and the Early Career Researcher Award. He has also been nominated for the Excellence Media Relations Award on two occasions.
