Biography

Patrice Deslauriers is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law at the Université de Montréal, where he has been teaching since 1990. He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Studies (D.E.A.) in Private Law from the Université de Montréal and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, where he was called to the Barreau du Québec in 1987. Deslauriers has served as the Associate Dean for Academic Development and as an associate editor for the Canadian Bar Review. His teaching expertise includes civil liability, the theory of obligations, and professional responsibilities in insurance law. Additionally, he has held visiting professorships at Universités Paris XII and II, and the École du Barreau du Québec, and has been a conference speaker in Quebec and internationally. Deslauriers has supervised numerous graduate theses at both the Master’s and Doctoral levels, focusing on various aspects of civil and professional responsibility within the legal framework of Quebec.
