Biography

Patricia Barral is a Group Leader at the Francis Crick Institute, having established her laboratory in 2013 after a short postdoctoral period at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She obtained her PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2005, where she focused on the mechanisms underlying allergic responses. Following her doctoral studies, she joined the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute, where she worked with Facundo Batista, employing in vivo imaging techniques to elucidate cellular interactions that regulate lymphocyte activation. In 2015, Barral became part of the Francis Crick Institute in London, contributing to significant advancements in the understanding of immune responses.
