Patricia (Trish) Bauer received her DDS degree from the University of Michigan in 1988 and completed a General Practice Residency at Veterans Hospital in Allen Park, Michigan, where she began practicing general dentistry part-time in South Lyon, Michigan. She began her teaching career in Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan and Anatomy at the University of Detroit/Mercy during her residency and joined the faculty full-time at Michigan in 1989. Trish has taught clinical and preclinical restorative dentistry and served as the course director for the Clinical Foundation series for D-1 students from 1993 to 1999. She completed her specialty program in Endodontics at the University of Michigan in September 2001 and earned an MS degree from the Rackham School of Graduate Studies in Education and Administration in Health. In addition, Trish has practiced general dentistry at the Dental Faculty Associates Clinic and has a limited practice in Endodontics. Currently, she is the director of Predoctoral Endodontics, teaching preclinical and clinical endodontics to graduate and undergraduate students. Trish is also a member of various dental school committees, including the Undergraduate Admissions and Disaster Preparedness Committees. She is involved in several professional organizations and serves as a council member on the planning committee for the annual ADEA meeting. Trish has been a consultant for Veterans Hospital in Detroit, where she teaches Endodontics to General Practice Residents. She previously served as the Chief Dental Services for the United States Air Force Reserve's 927th AMDS from 1999 to 2008 and is currently a dental officer in the Michigan Air National Guard with the rank of Lt Col. Her research interests include clinical endodontics, computer simulation, and dental education.
