Additionally, Dr. Cioe's research includes examining the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems as a harm reduction strategy for PWH who are unable or unwilling to quit smoking. She has received multiple awards for her research contributions, including the Nurse Researcher Recognition Award from the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care in 2018 and the Nurse Scientist of the Year from the Rhode Island State Nurses Association in 2019.
