Dr. Patricia Daley

Biography

Professor Patricia Daley is a leading scholar in Human Geography, specializing in themes of Africa, migration, and intersectionality. She is currently the Helen Morag Fellow and Tutor at Jesus College, University of Oxford. With a distinguished career, Professor Daley has taught at institutions like Dartmouth College and Loughborough University. Her research interests include the political economy of forced migration, feminist geopolitics, and the racial geographies of violence utilizing Critical Race Theory. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in academia and community engagements, holding positions such as Vice-Principal and serving on various university committees. Professor Daley's contributions to research and public discourse on themes of racialization and social justice have earned her recognition, including her inclusion in the Black Power List of influential Black persons in the UK. She has authored several critical works, including 'Learning Disobedience: Decolonizing Development Studies' and 'Gender and Genocide in Burundi'.
