Dr. Patricia Flanagan

Biography

Tricia Flanagan is a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales in the School of Art and Design, where she co-directs the Interactive Media Lab and leads the Wearables Creative Robotics Lab. With a multifaceted practice that includes critical speculative wearables and site-specific sculptural installations, Tricia's work has been showcased in locations such as the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art. She established the Wearables Lab at the Academy of Visual Art at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2009. Her academic pursuits include exploring hybrid practices at the intersection of digital technologies and traditional art. Tricia is involved in various international exhibitions and her works are included in both private and public collections across Australia, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and China. Her research focuses on generative design and the development of new materials, blurring the lines between art and technology. Tricia has received numerous awards and fellowships, emphasizing her contributions to both academic and artistic communities.
