Biography

Patricia M. García is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and a faculty affiliate of the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She has published numerous book reviews on Latina/o literature, English Renaissance literature, and English pedagogy in journals such as Choice and Seventeenth Century News. García co-edited a special issue of the scholarly journal Symbolism: International Annual Critical Aesthetics entitled “Latina/o Literature Crossroads: Trans-American Trans-Atlantic Critical Dialogue.” Additionally, she has contributed chapters on teaching poetry, including “Karaoke Poetry” in the Pocket Instructor: Literature. Her research interests encompass Renaissance literature, women and gender studies, and Mexican American and Latina literature. García is actively engaged in teaching and has offered courses through the UTeach Program, focusing on British literature, Shakespeare, and Latinx short stories, illustrating her dedication to both teaching and scholarly contributions.
