Biography

Patricia Gentile, OTR/L, DPS is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director for the MS and Entry-Level OTD Programs at NYU Steinhardt. She earned her Doctor of Professional Studies in Occupational Therapy from NYU and her Master's Degree in Health Administration from Hunter College. Prior to her role at NYU, Dr. Gentile served as an Administrator in the Department of Surgery and the Level 1 Trauma Center at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. She has extensive clinical experience in adult rehabilitation and has a keen interest in traumatic injury prevention. Dr. Gentile frequently presents at state and national conferences on various subjects related to occupational therapy, educational strategies, and leadership. In addition, she has co-authored articles addressing issues such as traumatic falls in the older adult population and OT/OTA intra-professionalism. Her current research interests focus on health care leadership, health advocacy, and the impact of social determinants on health and occupation.
