Professor Dr. Patricia Griffith

Biography

Patricia Griffith is a Practice Associate Professor at Penn Nursing, specializing in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner education. She graduated from Penn Nursing’s Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and plays a pivotal role in preparing acute care nurse practitioners. As the Associate Program Director, she oversees 12 courses and coordinates clinical placements for students, providing them with vital clinical experiences from the outset of their education. Dr. Griffith has contributed significantly to course development and curriculum enhancements, particularly in developing clinical courses that focus on foundational skills. Her dedication to advancing clinical education includes integrating high and low-fidelity simulations into the AGACNP curriculum, allowing students to hone their diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making abilities in safe learning environments. Her research interests center on diagnostic reasoning and innovative educational strategies to enhance NP education outcomes. She fosters an inclusive classroom environment, actively participating in the admissions committee to support a diverse cohort of prospective students. Dr. Griffith has received numerous accolades for her contributions to nursing education, including the Outstanding Dissertation Award from Villanova University and teaching excellence awards from the University of Pennsylvania.
