Biography

Dr. Janulewicz combines expertise in environmental health and neurotoxicology to examine the impact of environmental exposures on the nervous system. Her work spans the life-course and investigates prenatal, early postnatal, childhood, and adult exposures. Dr. Janulewicz's ongoing projects include researching gene-environment interactions among Gulf War veterans to identify the causes of illnesses related to their in-theater exposures. She explores the link between the gut microbiome and veterans' health and investigates how endocrine disrupting chemicals affect thyroid function, as well as the effects of maternal medication use during pregnancy on child neurodevelopment. Additionally, she assesses the long-term developmental trajectories of children exposed to Zika virus in utero and the public health implications of head impact exposures. Dr. Janulewicz has served as Principal Investigator on numerous funded projects and collaborates extensively with various research institutions, including Boston Medical Center and the Department of Defense.
