Dr. Patricia O Campo

Biography

Patricia O'Campo is a Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University and has made significant contributions to social epidemiology over the past decades. O'Campo's research focuses on social determinants of health, particularly in urban populations, and has involved innovative methodologies that inform public health policy and intervention strategies. She has received considerable funding for her research, totaling over $65 million as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator from various national and international funding bodies. O'Campo’s work has established her as a leader in population health intervention research, with a proven track record in mentoring students and fellows. Her accolades include being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and receiving numerous awards for her research and teaching excellence. Recently, she has led projects examining the impacts of precarious work on health, interventions addressing Indigenous maternal and infant health, and the effects of housing on health outcomes.
