Biography

Patricia Poitevien, MD, MSc, FAAP, serves as the Vice President for Campus Life at Brown University and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. In her roles, she focuses on creating a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered campus experience for undergraduate, medical, and graduate students. Dr. Poitevien is a critical member of the President’s Cabinet, overseeing areas such as student affairs, residential life, and wellness services. Dr. Poitevien is also a founding member of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Learning Community for Underrepresented Minorities in Medicine and serves as Immediate Past-President of the APPD. Her commitment extends to chairing committees on Competency-Based Medical Education, delivering numerous workshops, and publishing research aimed at promoting equity and inclusion within the medical community.
