I am an experienced criminologist working in the Justice Health Research Program, School of Population Health, UNSW. I completed my PhD at the School of Population Health, UNSW, exploring sexually transmissible infections among individuals who come into contact with the Australian justice system. My professional journey prior to my PhD includes over four years of conducting quantitative and qualitative research in various detention places, including prisons, immigration detention centers, court custody, and police custody. I have engaged with stakeholders from incarcerated populations, including both adults and children, as well as prison staff, police officers, and local and international policymakers. My passion lies in prison and criminal justice reforms aimed at improving the treatment outcomes for individuals involved in the justice system. I have expertise in data linkage, cohort studies, survey design, and delivering focus groups and interviews with vulnerable populations.
