Biography

Dr. Patricia Tang is a medical oncologist at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies and breast cancer. She completed her MD with Distinction at the University of Alberta in 2000, following a B.S. in Medicine from the same institution in 1997. Dr. Tang has undergone residency training in oncology at the University of Calgary and has further advanced her expertise through a drug development fellowship focusing on the design of early phase clinical trials and biomarker development at the Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award in 1997 and 2007, and the Ralph Meyer Phase III Program Young Investigator Award in 2016. Currently, Dr. Tang leads the Southern Alberta Gastrointestinal Tumor Group and serves as the Alberta representative for the Canadian Cancer Trials Network. Her research interests center on health services research, particularly in the area of clinical trials and investigational new drugs.
